Potoler Dorma ( Veg) : Stuffed Pointed Gourd ( Veg) : Stuffing : Soya Beans


Hi all, 
Potol or pointed gourd is not everyone’s favourite. Reason:  the stuffed seeds within it. So, why not replace the stuff seeds with something tastier? Trust me, you will fall in love with the dish. Stuffed pointed gourd can be prepared in a wide variety of methods, veg and non veg  and stuffing can be anything and everything. In this post, I will be talking about how to make stuffed pointed gourd ( veg) with soyabeans. For this, you will need the following ingredients :
(1) Pointed Gourd. (20 pcs).
(2)  Soya Beans. (1 medium bowl).
(3)  Curd.(50gm).
(4)  Coriander leaves.
(5) Salt .
(6) Amchur powder.
(7)  Turmeric powder.
(8)  Chilli paste. ( 4 chilli).
(9)  Coriander powder.
(10)                    Cumin Powder.
(11)                    Mustard oil.
(12)                    Cashew. ( Small pieces).
(13)                    Sugar( 1 tea spoon ; optional).
Now, just follow these steps:
(1)  Cut one end of the pointed gourd like a small circle and scoop out the seeds using a knife or a spoon( use the pointed back of the spoon).
(2)  Boil the soyabeans and smash them.
(3)  In a pan, heat mustard oil and fry the soyabeans with chilli paste ( 1 spoon) , amchur, turmeric, salt ,  cashew, cumin powder and coriander powder.
(4)  Fry well and add spoons of water when necessary.
(5)  Take some of the soyabeans to be used as stuffing and keep the rest for gravy.
(6)  Now stuff the soyabeans into the  pointed gourd and fry them in mustard oil.
(7)  Now mix curd, turmeric powder, chilli paste, cumin powder, coriander powder in a bowl.
(8) Heat mustard oil and add salt.
(9)  Now add the remaining soyabeans and the curd mixture and the coriander leaves.
(10)                    Cook for 2-3 minutes.
(11)                    Add sugar. ( This is optional. If you want to make it extremely spicy, you can leave it).
(12)                    Add the stuffed fried pointed gourd and some water.
(13)                    Cook for 5-7 minutes.

Your dish is ready !!  Serve it with white rice and enjoy J
